Plagiarism and Citing Sources
What is plagiarism? How can I avoid avoid it when researching a school assignment?
Plagiarism occurs when you use another persons' words or ideas without giving credit to the original author. This can happen when you copy the words and ideas from a book or a website. Your teacher may give you a failing grade for work that was not your own.
You can avoid this by always citing your sources whenever you complete a research assignment. The Woonsocket Middle School requires that students use the MLA (Modern Language Association) format.
